Sailing Vlieland
Vlieland is the second inhabited Wadden Island from the west, and it used to be joined to Texel. Sailing Vlieland is a relaxing trip! On Vlieland you can enjoy the peace and quiet on its wide beaches and beautiful dunes.
There are also plenty of other attractions, like the beautiful Nicolaaskerk and the museum Tromp’s huys, the oldest house on Vlieland and once in possession of the Admiralty. The Vuurduyn lighthouse stands on one of the tallest natural dunes in the Netherlands, 51 metres above sea level.
Going on an adventure to Vlieland
Sailing Vlieland aboard the sailing charter Orion is an adventure not to be missed. We sail the Vliestroom channel and cross the Wadden mudflats at the Richel when the tide permits, or we enter the harbour via the Stortemelk strait. We can reach Vlieland from Den Oever, Harlingen or from the neighbouring Wadden islands: Texel or Terschelling. Egasail organises several multi-day trips to Vlieland. For more information, prices and availability, please contact skipper Wouter Egas at info@egasail.nl.
