Sailing Hoorn
Hoorn came to the height of its power during the VOC era in the 17th century, and it still show in the beautifully restored residences and warehouses. The city used to lie on the old Zuyderzee; nowadays this part is called the Markermeer.
Sailing Hoorn in a unique getaway with culture and history! In Hoorn, you will find beautiful historical buildings like the West-Fries Museum, the Waag (weighing house) and the Oosterpoort former prison. There are also many fine churches and the Museum of the 20th Century. The Hoorn cheese market is recommended for gourmands, and in summer there are many lovely outdoor cafes to take a rest in.
