Sail Amsterdam
Sail Amsterdam 2015 was a unique spectacle of tall ships and other traditional vessels fro across the world. In 2015 it took place from 19 – 23 august. The city of Amsterdam calls it the world’s greatest nautical event!
Sail is organised every five years, and in 2015 no less than 600 ships participated, including 120 impressive tall ships from across the world, sailing heritage craft, Navy vessels and historical replicas. Numerous cultural and athletic activities took place around the IJ harbour in Amsterdam. Each evening ended with spectacular fireworks. Visitors were also treated to the Sail Music Marine, a grand, nightly, themed show with live music.
Sail Amsterdam 2015 with Egasail
Egasail was right in the thick of things in 2015. Aboard the sailing charter Orion, our guests experienced the spectacle from the deck of a 123-year old traditional Dutch sea-tjalk! Egasail organised afternoon and evening trips, with optional all-inclusive catering including coffee and tea with traditional pastry, drinks, lunch or dinner, and luxury snacks with cheese and fish on toast.
