Meeting and sailing

Would you like to organise a sailing trip for you and your colleagues or relations and is there much to discuss? Exchange your workplace for a unique meeting location! The rustic surroundings of the Orion make everyone able to meet and brainstorm more enthusiastically, creatively and clearly. Aboard this historical 1892 sea-tjalk you can enjoy the classical wooden interior and the beautiful vistas of the Markermeer. The Orion is equipped with all modern conveniences and is a great meeting location for letting the fresh sea breeze blow away your cobwebs.

Ideal meeting location

Aboard the Orion is the perfect place to conduct your meeting, conference or brainstorming session, while calmly sailing the Gouwzee. On a sunny day we can set up a table on deck; if the weather is less cooperative you will find all modern comforts in our saloon. The Orion has a 230V network that can accommodate all your equipment. We can provide you with a complete catering package for lunch and barbecue or supper, or just supply drinks and snacks.

Active afternoon sailing

Would you like to close your meeting with a relaxing activity? Choose our Combination Sailing Arrangement, wherein you conduct your meeting in the morning, followed by lunch at midday and a sailing trip in the afternoon. You can also opt for a multi-day trip; the Orion is equipped with comfortable accommodation facilities.

After the meeting we hoist the sails to get a nice bit of sailing in. We can also visit some lovely historical harbour towns if you’d like. Beginners or experienced sailors, active colleagues or business partners, can all lend a hand with sailing the ship or enjoying the fresh breeze and the beautiful views.

From 10:00 to 17:00: prices from €46 p.p. excl. catering, at occupancy of 26 persons.

We can accommodate a maximum of 26 persons during the day, and have overnight facilities for up to 18 people.

Meeting and sailing programme

Below you will find an example of what your meeting day can look like. Sailing enthusiasts are free to participate in the sailing, of course; experience is not required. Under expert guidance you will learn all there is to know about stays, leeboards, helm and navigation. Feel more like enjoying the view? Sit back, relax, and let the fresh air invigorate you on deck!

Safety is always paramount at Egasail, so if the weather is uncooperative we will move to the saloon where sacks and drinks can be served. In strong winds we will shorten the sails, and in case of an oncoming storm we will continue by engine.

10:00

All participants are welcomed aboard with a nice hot cup of coffee or tea, and settle in around the conference table.

10:30

We cast off around 10.30, and the Orion will calmly set course for the Gouwzee while you are brainstorming or discussing your agenda points.

13:00
