Sailing trip to Volendam Programme
Below is an example of a sailing trip to Volendam. We love it if you give the crew a hands with the sailing; we enjoy “showing you the ropes”, and it doesn’t matter if you have little or no experience. If not, feel free to relax in our saloon or just enjoy the fresh air on deck!
10:00
We meet around ten o’clock in the old Monnickendam harbour, where we welcome you on board the Orion with a lovely cup of coffee or tea.
10:30
We hoist the sails and let the wind take us across the Gouwzee: onward to Volendam! Lend a hand with sailing and manoeuvres or sit back and enjoy the view from the deck!
13:00
The Orion moors in Volendam, where you can choose two excursions. Visit the traditional smokehouse or swap your jeans for a historical fisherman’s outfit!
14:00
After the excursions a delicious lunch awaits you on board, after which we make our way back across the Gouwzee. Depending on your wishes we arrive back around five or seven o’clock.
